1.What is HCG ?

 

HCG is a natural substance that is produced in the human body during pregnancy.

 

2.How does HCG diet work exactly ?

 
Dr. Simeon designed the renowned HCG protocol, which only allows clients to take a very strictly applied 500 Calorie diet daily, leading to reduced glycogen and low glucose in the blood. This causes HCG to act. In other words, the low calorie diet causes you to release your unwanted fat (abnormal fat), leaving your normal fat (good fat) and lean body mass, while helping your hypothalamus to reset your system to a normal weight, allowing you to keep your weight while eating healthy foods after you complete the protocol.

 

 

 

 

3.What if I just did the diet without the HCG injections ?

 

Many double-blind studies have been conducted that give the answer to this question. If you just do the diet without the HCG injections, you will, in fact lose weight. The problem is, during the diet you will be losing muscle and structural fat; you will not lose any of the abnormal fat deposits in the problem areas. Your body will not be reshaped and re-sculpted. When you finish the diet your metabolism will be lower than before and your hunger higher than before. You will not have achieved the results you want.

 

4.Is it FDA approved ?

 

Like many other treatments, HCG diet is not FDA approved.

 

 

5. Is 500 calories a day  too low to be safe ?

 

When you are doing the diet combined with the HCG injections, Dr. Simeons reports that your body is being flooded with over 2,000 calories of nutrition from the releasing of the abnormal fat reserves.This is one of the reasons that during the diet, consisting of the diet and HCG injections, you are not hungry and generally have an increase in energy levels.

 

6. Do I have to stop HCG injections while I'm menstruating ?

 

It is a personal decision. However, Dr. Simeons states to do so, presumably to prevent a heavier flow.

 

7.CAN I TAKE BIRTH CONTROL PILLS WHILE DOING THE HCG INJECTIONS ?

 

Dr. Simeons states that oral contraceptives may be used during treatment.

 

8. DOES HCG WEIGHT LOSS WORK FOR MEN ?

 

Sure. Although HCG is associated with pregnancy, it can safely be used by both men and women that are looking to get their weight under control. The HCG used for the HCG weight loss protocol is actually already found in men.

 

9.Isn't it unhealthy to lose weight that fast ?
 

Typically, it is very unhealthy to lose weight that fast.However, the HCG is what makes the difference in this protocol. HCG weight loss studies have shown that weight lost following the Simeons protocol comes directly from adipose fat tissue. It is not muscle nor is it the structural fat that you body needs that usually gets depleted during “dieting.” For this reason, HCG dieters report a feeling and appearance of great health and marvel at the loss of negative health risks they had before.

 

10.Can I substitute smoked fish, pickled fish or deli meats ?

 

Absolutely not!  Nothing smoked, dried, or pickled. Never use deli meats. The meats must be of the leanest variety. If at all possible, buy organic as it will be free of all of the hormones, antibiotics and other animal drugs which slowdown or stop the fat burning process. Try to buy wild fish and not farm raised fish for the same reasons as above. Eating beef and veal that is not grass fed and 100% organic will slow down or stop the fat burning process.

 

 

11. Will I be hungry during this protocol ?

 

During Phase 2 you may have slight hunger between one and seven days. If you are following the instructions, to load up on calories, the first two days, this will not be as noticeable. Each person is different but for the most part the hunger is slight.

 

12.Do I need to exercise on this diet ?

 

That’s the beauty of HCG diet. Dr. Simeons clearly states NOT to exercise. He said all you have to do is to follow the HCG diet protocol and lose the weight first. The reason that you don’t is because the average person burns about 3000 calories a day just in normal activity and you are only eating 500 calories a day in food so you can see how you lose the weight. Many dieters have reported satisfactory weight loss without exercise. Some HCG clinics actually ask their patients wait until they are down to within 10-20 pounds of their goal weight before beginning any impact or strenuous exercise.Those who insist on working out should consider low intensity exercise and mild resistance exercise; no more than 30 min a day, and no more than 3 days a week. After the diet is complete a full workout routine can be restarted.

 

13.The instructions in all the phases call for a large consumption of water and teas. Is this necessary ?

 

Herbal teas and water are the two recommended beverages for the HCG weight loss. Thankfully, there is plenty of diversity when it comes to the type of herbal teas you can drink on HCG diet. So the dieter will never grow bored with their beverage choices. In addition, many herbal teas have additional health benefits. While on the HCG diet, the dieter needs to maintain regular digestive processes and regular bowel movements. Sometimes issues with constipation can arise which will hinder weight loss success. Since the use of laxatives is not recommended for anyone on the HCG diet plan, all natural methods for dealing with constipation are encouraged.

 

During all the phases you should drink a minimum of one-half gallon of water per day, up to a maximum of one gallon. It is important in the treatment of the obesity condition. The importance and benefits of adhering to the water cannot be overemphasized. It is absolutely vital in order for the protocol to work effectively.

 

 

11. Will I gain the weight back?

 

If you go back to eating fast food, restaurant food, and food containing trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, highly refined food, artificial sweeteners, meat, poultry, and dairy with growth hormone and antibiotics etc. you will in fact regain the weight.

 

12. If the weight comes back can I do this protocol again ?

 

Yes. If you lose a substantial amount of weight and a year later find you have gained some weight back, do the protocol as often as you desire. Many people will decide to do the protocol once a year for a three week period to lose any amount of weight gained just to keep on top of it.
